Description: Signed Max Beerbohm (LR) drawing
titled "The Group of Ladies Listening to Percy Grainger". Max Beerhohm was born in 1872 and passed away in 1956, and was best known as a critic, essayist and caricaturist. His caricatures were collected in various volumes including Zuleika Dobson in 1911 which is an ironic romance of an Oxford Undergraduate's life. He was a friend of Aubrey Beardsley and Oscar Wilde and very much part of the nineties movement. His brillant caricatures of his contemporaries became legendary. His work can be viewed at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and the Tate Gallery in London. Site: 15.625"H x 12"W; Frame: 23.75"H x 17.625"W. Circa - 1912.
