Description: 9HD-289/ 297 US MARSHAL DEPUTY BADGE
Interesting Western holster, cartridge belt and badge including a finely tooled single loop leather holster for a 5-1/2” Colt SAA revolver, marked “Collins & Son, Omaha, Neb.” In overall good to very good condition with chamois lining and a leather thong securing the bottom of the holster to the back skirt; an unmarked tooled leather cartridge belt with square buckle in overall worn but good condition and a six pointed star badge “U.S. Marshal” across the top in an arch, “DEPUTY” across the middle of the badge and “Abilene, Kansas” in an arch on the bottom of the badge with each point of the star showing a designed single scroll. Although we cannot determine the age of this badge and there is no hallmark on the backside, a letter accompanied this item from the consignor’s estate, signed by a Gerald G. Frost and dated 2005, claims he purchased the badge from George Shy of Chapman, Kansas in 1982, who in turn claimed it was purchased from a badge collector in Sweetwater, Texas. In any case, a nice looking display piece accompanied by a very good old Collins & Son holster. Est.: $400-$800.
