Description: Vicksburg Daily Citizen, During Siege Of Vicksburg
Extremely Rare Vicksburg Daily Citizen Published during the Siege of Vicksburg Published contemporaneously with the fall of Vicksburg, this piece is an extremely rare example of a newspaper published in wartime on the back of a piece of wallpaper. As the siege took hold and strangled the city, the citizens of Vicksburg resorted to eating their pets and using whatever materials were available to try to continue with the business of living and surviving. This framed newspaper is an excellent example of the resourcefulness of the citizenry.
Estimate: 300.00 - 500.00
