The wireless handheld unit comes with a base station that connects to your computer. The handheld communicates with the base station and the base station communicates with your computer. You can think of the wireless handheld unit as a really fancy wireless keyboard with an incredible 3000' (foot) range.

 

To demo a virtual wireless handheld unit:

1. Click on the Wireless Handheld Setup & Monitoring button 4_cmd_WirelessHandheld from the Navigator or the Navigator Toolbar. You must run this from the computer that the base station is connected to.

 

2. To start ensure that your base station is plugged into your computer and make the appropriate Com Port and Baud Value settings, then click on the Init button.

 

3. To start using the handheld unit you can either use a real terminal, or, for demonstration purposes you can use a virtual terminal:

To use a real handheld wireless unit start by clicking the On/Off button.
To demo the wireless handheld unit click on one of the Virtual Terminal buttons 4_cmd_VirtualTerminalID0 and then press Enter on your keyboard or click on the On/Off button.

 

4. Once at the Auction Flex menu you will be able to lot the auction by inventory #, scan VIN's, clerk the auction, or do Multi-Parcel What-If's.

 

To Lot the Auction by Inventory# press 1 and then Enter.
You will be prompted for the lot# that you wish to lot. Type in the desired lot# and press enter.
If the lot# is available then you will be prompted for the inventory# to assign to the previously entered lot#
If the lot# is not available and is available to be removed then the system will prompt you to remove it.
