Upload Auction

Top  Previous  Next

Auction Flex allows you to easily upload your catalog and take bids via the internet. Many options are available that allow the adjusting of the bidding types, bidder registration and approval modes, and post-auction uploads for prices realized. Use the steps below to familiarize yourself with the Auction Flex Internet Uploading process.

1.  Click the Auction Setup button 610_cmd_Auctionsetup from the Navigator or the Navigator toolbar.

2.  Use the navigation buttons 610_cnt_StandardControls

to scroll to desired Auction.

3.  Click the Upload button on the lower right of the Auction Setup Screen.

3a. The General tab allows you to:

Upload items based on pre-sale estimates;
Choose to show lot numbers if the catalog is finalized. You can still take bids if using the IWS on a non-finalized catalog. When you determine your catalog order and lot numbers, upload the auction again with those finalized numbers;
Suppress Uploading of Pre-Sale Estimates;
Hide or display time left for bidding;
Set your currency abbreviation to the currency for that auction;
Explain your buyers premium. The text in this field will appear on your online catalog;
Suppressing the Intelligent Image Upload allows the software to re-upload all of your images. If you use the Intelligent Image Upload, the next time you upload your auction only the new or changed images will be uploaded. This feature saves time during an upload.

3b. The Registration tab allows you to set online bidder registration criteria:

Set Internet Bidder Registration Type bidder_reg
Required Last CC Authorization in Days:  If you chose Registration with Credit Card Info, a fee could be assessed per the IWS agreement. This charge is based on the number of bidders that need authorization for that auction. You can limit the number of re-authorizations and fees by adjusting the Request Last CC Authorization In Days field. The longer you leave a credit card authorized (default is 120 days) the less of a chance that you would need to re-authorize that card but the greater the potential exposure to canceled or expired cards. You can use this feature to register your bidders online for your traditional auctions, as well, by not enabling internet bidding.
Allow Registration with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. These fields are self explanatory. Obviously, if you don't accept Discover, then you wouldn't want to allow someone to register for your auction with a Discover card.
Upon Successful Registration Automatically Create a Permission for the Bidder for the Amount: Essentially, the purpose of having a bidder register for your auction with a credit card is so that they don't have to wait to leave their bids. This field permits you to limit how high of a bid they can leave without you specifically "touching" their record and further increasing their bid(s). Most customers will set this to 9,999,999.99, as they don't need to limit the bidding. However, if you had a few really high end items in your auction, and you wanted to ensure that only the "super-qualified" bidders are allowed to bid on it, this option would facilitate that requirement.

3c. The Bidding tab allows you to set online bidding options:

Internet Bidding Types, including absentee bidding and internet-only auctions
Minimum Bid Types include Public and Silent
Bid Amount Types include Maximum & Flat. Maximum bidding means the bidder is bidding Up To the amount they enter. Flat bidding means they are bidding the actual amount they enter.
Times the money or one money
Show Reserved Status
Force bids to match increment schedule
Show confirmation page with Buyer's Premium
Close Bidding Date & Time in EST
Soft Close: Extend Bidding on Lot by X Minutes if Bid Placed on Lot in Last X Minutes Where X=. This option prevents sniping and is used with internet-only auctions.
Automatically accept bids for this auction where bidmax <= . This option is used only when your registration requirements are verification only.

3d.  The Lot Stagger tab allows you to space out the closing of your auction:

Set Stagger by Auction
Set Stagger by Lot.

3e.  No Bidding allows you to specify:

Internet Bidding NOT Enabled message (short)
Internet Bidding NOT Enabled message (detailed).

3f. The Post-Auction tab allows you to set the Post-Auction settings

Show prices realized after the auction

3g.  AuctionZip allows you to upload Auction Information to Auctionzip.com using your existing

AuctionZip login information. If you don't have one already created, you would need to create one

prior to utilizing this feature.
