User Defined Fields (UDF) in Inventory

Top  Previous  Next

Auction Flex allows you to create unlimited Inventory Types with unique criteria fields for each. You can use up to 9 separate User Defined Fields ( 6 short UDFs and 3 long LUDFs) to create either leads (titles) and/or descriptions of items, or use UDFs as an additional field for your description through our Extended Description Options. The short UDFs have a 40 character max while the LUDFs are not character limited.

By Entering Captions into your UDF fields you can control the type and placement of information for that inventory type. We are going to create an inventory type of Art as our sample.

In the image above you will notice that we have entered field names in 7 of the 9 available user defined fields. We can use these UDFs to create our Leads (title of the items) or add to Descriptions of an item. In the case of art we need to capture the Artist Name, type of painting, if it is signed, the size, weight of the piece (Ebay requirements) and the title of the piece. You will notice that we are using both the Auto Lead field orders as well as the Extended Description field orders. When we enter a piece of inventory under the Inventory Type of Art our Leads will be organized per the Auto Lead and our Descriptions will be organized per the Extended Description. We also set up Field Labels that will appear in the catalog with your Extended Descriptions.
