Inventory can be allocated to an auction from Purchase Order Maintenance, Consignment Order Maintenance, or Auction Maintenance. To learn how to allocate previously entered inventory into auction from Auction Maintenance, follow the instructions below, otherwise see Fast Lot Entry, or Add Purchased Inventory, or Add Consigned Inventory.
1. Click on the Auction Setup button from the Navigator or the Navigator Toolbar.
2. If you have previously entered the auction use the navigation buttons to locate it otherwise click the new button to create a new auction.
3. Click on the Auction Lots tab .
4. There are four different ways to allocate inventory to an auction. These methods are used to allocate previously entered inventory to an auction. If you want to quickly add new inventory to an auction check out the Fast Lot Entry tutorial.

| • | Click on the Add Group (Add Group) button to add a group of inventory at the same time. |
| • | A form will appear with a list of available inventory. |
| • | Select the desired inventory items using the <shift> and <ctrl> keys. |
| • | Click on the OK Prompt for Lot#/Qty button if you want the system to ask you for a lot number and/or quantity for each inventory item. Click on the OK AutoNumber Lot#/Qty button if you want the system to automatically assign the lot numbers and quantities for you. |
| • | Click on the Visual Auction Lotter button to add inventory the visual way. |
| • | The Visual Auction Lotter form is best understood by playing with it but here are a few pointers. |
| • | Click on available inventory to view it in the Quick Inventory Lot View. |
| • | Double-Click available inventory and the system will prompt you for lot # / qty. |
| • | Drag-and-Drop available inventory over an empty lot number. |
| • | Hold down the shift key and Drag-and-Drop available inventory over an empty lot number to have the system prompt you for lot/quantity. |
| • | Lot numbers are color coded according to the presale estimate of the item in comparison to the min,max, and average of the items assigned to the auction. There is a color-coded key that shows you these values. |
| • | Hover over used lot numbers to view the lot in the Quick Inventory Lot View. |
| • | Right click a lot number to remove it from the auction. |
| • | Drag-and-drop a used lot number to an available lot number to reassign lot numbers. |
| • | In the upper right hand corner click on the Entire Auction tab to view a bar graph of the presale estimate values for the entire auction. |
| • | There is a border around used lot numbers when there are lot subnumbers (a,b,c,etc.) being used. |
