Performance Considerations

There are a lot of factors that can influence the performance of Auction Flex on various computer installations. The following are a list of guidelines to follow:

Disable hard drive caching on the primary workstation.
Optimize the primary workstation for background services or file services (depends on OS) if secondary computers are running slowly.
Always use 100mb or better networking equipment including NIC's, hubs, switches, etc.
Always ensure that your primary workstation is the "latest and greatest" computer on your network.
In environments with 4 or more workstations consider getting a dedicated file server with a RAID 1 (mirrored) hard drive array.
Keep in mind that Auction Flex has built in performance options for certain forms including Clerking & Checking Out. To speed up the clerking screen go to Miscellaneous->Option Maintenance->CLERK tab and set the Performance Tuning options appropriately.
