Create an unlimited selection of Inventory Types in Auction Flex. Use these separate inventory types to sort your catalogs, separate tax statuses or capture unique information for each major group of inventory you may use. Also use our Buyer Charges section as found in Auction Maintenance to apply charges based on Inventory Types. For example titled Vehicles (as an Inventory Type) can be selected to have a title transfer fee applied. This fee would apply to any items sold from that inventory type and appear on the buyers invoice. To set up Inventory Types follow our brief tutorial below.
1. Go to the Inventory drop down menu at the top of the software. Select Inventory Type Maintenance
2. Hit the New button found at the bottom of the screen.
| • | Enter the title / description of this inventory type in the description field at the upper left of the screen. we will use Art for our sample Inventory Type. |
| • | If using our online catalog select the appropriate Group from the drop down menu at the top of the screen. |
| • | If using the Clerking Grid or Wireless Handheld enter the Inventory Type Code (use numerals 1,2,3,4 on up) for easy entry when using those clerking options. |
| • | Check the appropriate options for this inventory type in the upper right corner (VIN DECODE for titled Vehicles will allow this inventory type to pull VIN information from the Auction Flex servers and enter it into the named UDFs) |
| • | Enter your UDFs and any Extended Description fields. See User Defined Fields for a detailed tutorial. |
| • | At the bottom of this screen you can add the Tax Status for a particular Inventory Type. Currency or Agricultural products may not be taxable in your area, or an Invenotry Type could be taxable for your primary tax (Tax 1) and non taxable or taxed by individual buyer for Tax 2. |
