There are multiple areas in Auction Flex where you can create a new buyer. Auction Flex also has the capabilities to import a list of buyers using a spreadsheet. This topic will explain how to manually create buyers from the buyer maintenance and buyer check-in areas. After a buyer has been entered, you must check-in that buyer to an auction before he/she is able to bid on an item in that auction. Once you have a buyer entered in, you will never need to input the information again. If you think you have duplicate entries, you can run our Duplicate Buyers Tool.
* Note: The Buyer Code is NOT the bid card number (aka badge number). It is a code that is assigned by the software but can be changed.
a. enter the demographics for a particular buyer (address, phone, email, DOB, etc...). b. assign a Reserved Bid Card Number. c. select a Hear About Us value. - Hear About Us values are determined by you in the Settings and Options Maintenance under the Buyer Tab. Enter in different means that your buyers may have heard about your auctions (i.e. Radio Commercial, Newspaper Ad, Flyer, etc...) and separate each with a comma. These choices will then appear under this drop-down menu.
d. enter an Alert that will appear every time the buyer checks-in or cashes-out.
a. Determine a buyer's tax-status.
If a buyer is tax-exempt, simply make sure the Taxable 1 box is unchecked. You may enter the buyer's Tax Exempt number in the next field if you wish.
b. Set the Buyer's Premium to a different rate than that of the auction buyer's premium.
c. Store a preferred payment profile for this buyer.
