Mailing Lists are generally used to group buyers with common interests. Mailing Lists can also be used to group buyers with any other common component such as geography, purchasing history, etc.
1. Click on the Mailing List Maintenance button from the Navigator or the Navigator Toolbar.
2. Click on the New button to create a new mailing list.
3. To assign members to this mailing list you have several options depending on your situation.
| • | Manually assign members to this mailing list using the multi-select combo box. |
| • | Select desired buyers from the Non-Members side using the <Shift> or <Ctrl> keys to select multiple buyers. |
| • | Use the advanced builder to build mailing lists based on various criteria. |
| • | Click on the Adv. Build button . |
| • | The Advanced Mailing List Builder has various tabs that empower you to create mailing lists based on various criteria. These criteria can be used to target your audience for specific auctions or in general to separate your returning or active customers from those that have not attended an auction over a period of time. Target your buyers by sorting for key words, inventory types purchased, or purchase volumes for a period of time. |
| • | Manually assign members to this mailing list from Buyer Maintenance. |
| • | Click on the Buyer or Consignor Maintenance button from the Navigator or the Navigator Toolbar. |
| • | Click on the Mail Lists tab . |
| • | Use the mailing list controls to maintain individual buyer's/consignor's mailing list. |
4. Once you have created a mailing list and assigned it members you have three options:
| • | Print mailings (envelopes, mailers, labels, etc.) from within Auction Flex |
| • | Click the print button from Mailing List Maintenance. |
| • | All selections will ask you if you would like to exclude buyers with e-mail addresses. |
| • | All selections will also ask if you wish to print labels for buyers with blank address fields. Choosing no will reduce the number of wasted labels. |
| • | Export (automatic or manual) for use with external programs or to send to your printers. |
| • | Click the Export button from Mailing List Maintenance. |
| • | You will be prompted to export your mailing list into one of several available formats. There is also an option to exclude buyers with e-mail addresses. |
| • | Click on the e-mail button from Mailing List Maintenance. |
| • | You will be able to create an e-mail and then send it to any or all of your available mailing lists. |
